Correspondence, shipping papers, including protests and testimonies of lost cargo, deeds, legal agreements, bills and receipts, and military papers relating to the American Revolution. Family members represented include Hugh Hall Wentworth (1740?-1774), shipping merchant who was appointed lieutenant governor of Grenada in 1768 and Joshua Wentworth (1742-1813), commissary and naval agent in Portsmouth, army officer during the Revolution, and supervisor of New Hampshire, appointed by George Washington in 1791.
